Some Good Publicity: People Are Starting to Notice

The 4th Annual Brenau Barbecue Competition got a great sendoff Friday morning, May 24, with a live television from the site on Fox5 television in Atlanta. Reporter Paul Milliken visited rolled onto the Gainesville, Ga., campus prior to 8 a.m. for the live reports. One features Myron Mixon of Jack’s Old South professional team from Unadilla, Ga. The  other segment features brenau President Ed Schrader and a group of students, all of whom receive scholarships supported in part by proceeds of the annual fundraising event.

Myron Mixon, left, tells Fox5′s Paul Milliken that the Brenau even is one of the best he attends as a professional competitor. It may not have as many contestants as others, he says, but the engagement of the community in the fund-raising activity and family-oriented festival draws bigger crowds.
